Parents’ Evening exec Shereen Docherty to step up
Romesh Ranganathan and Benjamin Green have appointed the first head of entertainment for their outfit Ranga Bee.
Shereen Docherty has stepped into the role after three years as exec producer and development executive on unscripted shows including two series of ITV1’s comedy quiz format Romesh Ranganathan’s Parents’ Evening and kids format Go Get Arty for CBBC, as well as Channel 4.0 formats Celebrity Rebrand and King Konan’s Trap Door. She will continue to build the unscripted slate, from children’s programming to reality formats.
In nearly seven years with Ranga Bee, Docherty has also developed titles including Jon and Lucy’s Party of the Year (C4), Romesh: Can’t Knock the Hustle (Sky) and The Road To Crawley (Netflix).
She has previously had stints as a freelance producer at Twofour, BBC Studios, Rumpus Media, Fulwell 73, Tiger Aspect, Objective Media Group and ITV and has worked on shows including Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway (ITV1), Sounds Like Friday Night (BBC1) and Children In Need (BBC1).
She said: “Approaching my seventh year at Ranga Bee, I’m proud of the ambitious, funny slate we’ve built and the direction we’re heading. With three series airing this year and plenty more in development, it’s an exciting time to step into the role.”

Ranga Bee is also behind Ranganathan and Green’s comedies Avoidance (BBC1) and Romantic Getaway (Sky). Last year, the company launched its first podcast, The Romesh Ranganathan Show, in partnership with Listen.
